  • About the brand
Yoshida & Co., the powerhouse behind the iconic Porter brand, has been a symbol of exquisite Japanese craftsmanship in bag and accessory making since its inception in 1935. Founded by Kichizo Yoshida, who started his journey as a young bag craftsman, the brand has weathered historical events from the Kanto earthquake to the Second World War, emerging stronger and more innovative each time. Known for their emphasis on utility—"a bag should first of all be a tool to carry goods," as Kichizo Yoshida once said—the Porter brand has diversified its offerings over the years, including the famous TANKER series, inspired by MA-1 flight jackets. Today, under the stewardship of Kichizo Yoshida's sons, the Tokyo-based company continues to create high-quality, made-in-Japan products. The Porter brand remains the crown jewel in the Yoshida & Co. portfolio, embodying a legacy of quality, innovation, and timeless style.
