The BB650 silhouette gets a mega update in collaboration with Junya Watanabe for Junya Watanabe MAN. A bold homage to the chunky, padded basketball shoes that dominated the 80s and 90s, this silhouette elevates the beloved 550 with the hi-top look. The classic leather upper is accentuated by a puff and stitch collar, adorned with perforated details and plush branding. Resting on a rubber outsole boasting high foxing and a woven heel counter, these sneakers perfectly balance vintage aesthetics with contemporary flair. Complete with a padded mesh lining and a woven tongue label, the BB650 is a stylish nod to basketball heritage.

About the brand
Born in Japan in 1961, Junya Watanabe started his apprenticeship at Comme des Garçons as a patternmaker in 1984. His mentor, the founder Rei Kawakubo, saw potential in Junya and promoted him to chief designer of the Tricot knitwear line in 1987. In 1993, Junya created his first line working under his own name as part of Comme des Garçons.
Junya Watanabe takes a lot of influence from Kawakubo, but focuses on adding a personal approach to his garments. He is renowned for reworking classic pieces with a twist, giving great attention to detail. -
